Denali Teams Continue Up The Mountain

May 28, 2022 – Good news as Denali Teams continue to ascend.

 

Team 1 – Team 1 moved to 17,000 feet yesterday.

Team 2 – Team 2 moved to 17,000 feet yesterday.

Team 3 – Team 3 moved to 14,000 feet yesterday.

Team 4 – Team 4 is at 11,000 feet and took an acclimatization hike to 13,000 feet yesterday.

Team 5 – Team 5 reached 11,000 feet yesterday.

 

All is well on Denali as the teams make their way up the tallest mountain in North America.

Denali Teams Continue Their Ascent

May 25, 2022 – Team 4 (led by Nicole Sims) and our Custom Denali Team 5 (led by Willie Webster) have joined the other teams on Denali; all 5 teams are on the mountain! Team 4 flew on to the Kahiltna on Sunday in beautiful weather, and Custom Denali Team 5 flew on Tuesday. All is well on Denali!

Team 2 (Rowan Steward): 14,000 feet

Team 3 (Keith Rumberg): 11,000 feet

Team 4 (Nicole Sims): 11,000 feet

Team 5 (Willie Webster): 9,000 feet

IMG Summits Rainier!

Congratulations to Patrick Mauro and his team for reaching the summit of Rainier for this morning for the first time this season. The team put in a monumental effort exploring different route options on Rainier and establishing our high camp early Sunday putting the team in a position to make a successful summit bid early this morning. Patrick’s conditions report from the summit was “windy, but clear.”

Teams Moving Up Denali

Teams 1,2, and 3 have checked in from Denali, and all are doing well. Team 1 led by Nickel Wood, plans to move camp to 14,000 feet today, with Team 2, led by Rowan Stewart, close behind at 11,000ft.

Team 3, led by Keith Rumberg, flew on to Denali yesterday and is comfortably camped near 10,000ft. Team 4, led by Nicole Sims, arrived in Talkeetna yesterday and the team will spend the day preparing their expedition to depart in the coming days.

Denali Team #2 Flying On; Team #1 at 9,200′

More good news from Alaska today! Team #3 is meeting up in Anchorage.  Team #2 was able to fly into the Kahiltna Glacier Basecamp on schedule this morning.

Team #1 has moved up in a single carry to 9,200′ camp above Ski Hill and will be turning their attention to moving to the 11,000 Camp. With high pressure remaining in control through Saturday, we expect to have several days of good opportunity to continue moving our teams up the mountain!

Denali Teams Out The Door

Our Denali Team #1 led by Nickel Wood flew on to the Kahiltna Glacier today kicking off our Denali climbing season in style. Team #2 led by Rowan Stewart is close behind, reaching Talkeetna this afternoon. The remaining IMG May climbing teams all arrive in the coming week.

 

The teams will spend the next several weeks acclimatizing and climbing the tallest peak in North America!

Great news has come in that our Everest and Lhotse Teams have reached the summits!  It has been a truly remarkable night for our teams.  The weather reports just cant get much better.  No wind, clear skies, warm, AND a FULL MOON!  OK, let’s make it even better by saying that there were very few other climbers on the route and everyone is now back to the South Col and doing great.  Everest summits came in between 3:20 and 3:40 am. Congratulations t all of our Everest Climbers!  Our Lhotse Team reached the summit at

Happening now, our Everest Team has just departed the South Col for the summit!  Reports from the South Col are the Team has a clear night with very light winds and minor traffic.  Great news and we are standing by for reports as they come in.  Good luck to everyone climbing tonight and thanks to all of you for the support!

Great news overnight from our team on Mount Everest and Lhotse.  IMG Climbers George Vojteck Pesek and Fura Gyalzen Sherpa reached the summit at 7:05am.  What a huge accomplishment just one day after summiting Mount Everest.  They have been climbing strong the entire season.  Congratulations to George and Fura on another great climb!

Team 2 had a great day as well with everyone moving up the Lhotse Face to Camp 3.  They will be up early to continue up to the South Col and put themselves in position to Summit on the 15th.  We have two more climbers who took a well deserved and additional rest day at Camp 2 who will head up to Camp 3 tomorrow.

All is well on Mount Everest and Lhotse!
