Ecuador Team Summits Cayambe

After a day of training on the lower slopes yesterday, our Ecuador team made it to the summit of Cayambe (18,996′) today!

Ecuador Team Acclimatizing Nicely

Busy days in Ecuador!  The week started with an acclimatization hike on Monday to the summit of Imbabura (15,109′), superb weather all the way.   A delicious dinner and a restful evening prepared them for the next few days as they start making their way to climb Cayambe!

Mountain Hikes & Exploring The Sites

On Sunday the IMG Ecuador team enjoyed a hike to the top of Fuya Fuya (13, 986′) in perfect weather.  A stop in Otavalo to visit a local artisan workshop, then continued to San Clemente to rest for the night before heading to Imbabura.

Ama Dablam Team Rests at Base Camp, EBC Gokyo Trek Wraps Up

November 3, 2024

The IMG Ama Dablam team had a busy weekend!  The team made a summit attempt on Sunday, but they turned around and returned to base camp for a few days’ rest.

The EBC Gokyo trekkers flew in to Kathmandu from Lukla, wrapping up the trek in good time and good spirits!  After some well deserved rest, they’ll head home with great memories and fun stories to share.

Ecuador Team Checks In

Romulo Cardenas checked in to report that all is well in Ecuador!   Friday afternoon the team explored historic downtown Quito, visiting historic churches and museums and heritage sites.

Saturday was spent at the famous Otavalo market, where the Día de Muertos celebration was in full swing, followed by a scenic acclimatization hike along Lake Cuicocha, ending the evening at the historic Hacienda Pinsaqui.

Ecuador Team Arrives In Quito

November 1, 2024

IMG Ecuador guide Romulo Cardenas checked in to report that our Ecuador team has arrived safe and sound in Quito!  This morning they enjoyed a hearty breakfast followed by a thorough gear check.  This afternoon they’ll hike above Quito through the Teleferico (Gondala), then explore famous churches and other sites in Old Town Quito.

Ama Dablam Team At Camp 1

November 1, 2024

Our Ama Dablam team is doiong great, they reached Camp 1 in excellent time today, just a little over 4 hours.  After some rest and refueling, our Sherpa team made a carry to Camp 2.

Meanwhile, our EBC Gokyo Extension trekkers arrived in Namche today where they’ll rest for the night and trek to Phakding tomorrow.

Ama Dablam Team Prepares For First Rotation

Our Ama Dabalm team reports that the team is doing great at Ama Dablam base camp!  They’re enjoying some well deserved rest and spending time at base camp honing their rope skills in preparation for their ascent, including rope ascension, rapelling and other climbing techniques.

The Sherpa team carried to Camp 1 yesterday, and the team plans to head to Camp 1 tomorrow.

EBC Trekkers Back In Kathmandu

October 30, 2024

The EBC trekkers arrived safe and sound in Kathmandu and were all smiles as they were greeted back at the hotel!  All that’s left is to rest, re-pack and start making their way home in the next day or two.  They’ll have great stories to share with friends and family when they return home!

Mera Team Returns to Kathmandu, Ama Dablam Climbers At Base Camp

October 29, 2024

The Mera and Ama Dablam teams parted ways, and the Mera team flew to Manthali today and drove to Kathmandu, where they arrived at the hotel in good spirits.  They plan to do some sightseeing tours before departing for home.

The Ama Dablam team flew in to Ama Dablam base camp early this morning, safe and sound.  They’ll have time to rest, then spend some time training for the days ahead.
