IMG Aconcagua Team 3 wraps up a fantastic trip in Argentina. Climbers celebrated their success in Mendoza with a delicious meals and well-deserved beers. The team looks forward to traveling home to share the memories with their friends and family.

Aconcagua summit views while ascending to Camp 3 (Tyler Nachand)
A huge congrats is in order for our third and final Aconcagua team! The team reached the summit this morning in good style and is now on the way down back and will reach Mendoza in the coming days.

IMG Aconcagua Team 3 at Camp 3! (Tincho Lucero)
IMG Guide Tincho Lucero checked in reporting that the team made a successful move to Camp 3 today! With good weather in the forecast, a summit attempt is in the future soon.
We’re excited for all of our Aconcagua teams and will keep you updated along the way!
Feb 2, 2024 – IMG Senior Guide Tincho checked in from Camp 2 to report clear weather and a happy team. The team pulled into the 17,200ft camp around 2PM local time and will being continuing on to carry some of their gear to the famous Camp Cholera (High Camp) in the coming days.
January 29, 2024
Our Aconcagua team led by Tincho checked in this afternoon- they had a lovely day making a carry to Camp 1 under bluebird skies. The team is back at Plaza de Mulas Basecamp now and is looking forward to a well-deserved rest day tomorrow!

This morning our Mexico Volcanoes team made it to the summit of Pico de Orizaba! The team was greeted by a lovely sunrise that cast the shadow of the peak across the landscape below.
The team is now on the descent and will be starting their journey home!
January 26th, 2024–
IMG Aconcagua Team 3 enjoying their rest day among fantastic views (Tincho)
IMG Guide Tincho checked in and let us know the Team had a fantastic time acclimatizing and enjoying the fantastic views on their hike today as their active rest day. Climbers look forward to another restful night at Confluencia (10,826′) before traveling to Plaza de Mulas basecamp (13,976′) tomorrow.

IMG Climbers on the descent from summit of Ixtaccihuatl (17,338′) (Porter McMichael)
The IMG Mexico Team had a successful morning with 2 climbers reaching the top of Ixtaccihuatl (17,338′) today! Climbers woke early in the night to begin their ascent and proved their persistence and true grit in their efforts to reach the top. All climbers descended safely to the pass and look forward to a restful and rewarding night in Puebla. Congrats to our team!

IMG Aconcagua Team enjoying the sunshine and fantastic dining at Confluencia (Tincho)
The IMG Aconcagua Team had a bright and easy-going first day on the trail. The team left early this morning to begin their ascent from Penitentes (8,940′) to Confluencia (10,826′). Climbers were welcomed to camp with fresh fruit and a variety of refreshing drinks. The team looks forward to a peaceful night before an active rest day at Confluencia tomorrow.

IMG Guide Tincho checked in and let us know all Team 3 members arrived safely to Mendoza and are busy preparing for the expedition ahead. The team used the past couple of days securing climbing permits, packing, and checking their gear before they departed for the town of Penitentes (8,940′) today, near the trailhead. Climbers look forward to heading onto the trail tomorrow to being their climb of Aconcagua’s Horcones Valley Normal Route. Best of luck team!
