View from above Camp 2 on Putha Hiunchuli (Karma Rita Sherpa)

Karma Rita checked in overnight to let us know the team is in position to summit! It was a little cloudy on the climb to Camp 2.5 for the team but sometimes we need to move in less than perfect weather to put ourselves in position to have a great summit day. The weather is favorable and the team is planning on departing Camp at 1 am. Having oxygen for the climb will help the team stay warm and move efficiently as they head for the summit.

Our Putha Hiunchuli Team is on the move and heading uphill for their summit rotation. The team is doing great and our Sherpa Team is confident with the weather and route conditions. There has been a little more snow on the mountain as a result of the lingering monsoon but we are confident we can break trail to the summit. The team will move up to Camp 2 in the morning and be in position to head for the summit on the 9^th. A nice bonus for the team is getting to put on oxygen; this will allow our team to move efficiently and warm in the cool temperatures up high.

Karma Rita checked in from Putha Hiunchuli Base Camp to let us know the team is doing great and ready to head up on the summit rotation.

The weather looks favorable for the team, and they are aiming for the 9th to stand on top! The team will head up to Camp 1 in the morning to begin putting themselves into position!

IMG Senior Guide, Karma Rita Sherpa, checked in to let us know the team had an excellent rotation on Putha Hiunchuli.  After spending a night at Camp 1 (17,552’/5350m), they climbed to Camp 2 for a touch and go.  After touching Camp 2 (20,013’/6100m), the team then descended to Base Camp. There is still a little snow in the forecast but our team will be resting at Base Camp for a few more days before making their summit bid!

The Putha Hiunchuli Team departed Base Camp just after lunch for the climb to Camp 1. The team is climbing strong and the weather is looking good. Karma Rita and Pega continued to Camp 2 with gear before dropping back down to Camp 1 for the night with the team. The plan is to spend tonight at Camp 1, climb to Camp 2 in the morning, and return to Base Camp.  Karma Rita reports more snow on the route this year but it’s plenty manageable.

We got a call from Senior Guide, Karma Rita Sherpa, overnight to let us know the team is feeling great and ready to move up tomorrow. The team had a great Puja and the weather is now looking very good. I like when a Puja clears up the skies for climbing! The team will depart Base Camp after breakfast and climb to Camp 1 (17,552’/5350m) to spend the night. They will then touch Camp 2 (20, 13’/6100m) the following morning before returning to Base Camp.
