We received word from IMG Guide Nathan Berry and Senior Guide Phinjo Sherpa from the summit of Mera Peak (21,250’) overnight! The Team had a great day of climbing and enjoyed spectacular views from the summit of Mera Peak. The weather was great with clear skies. These clear skies also brought some cool temperatures. After spending time on the summit, the team descended to High Camp and after a short rest, dropped down to Mera La for the night. Tomorrow, the Team will trek down to Thagnak (14,300’). Nathan will stop at Khare (16,400’) and meet our Mera Peak Express Team.
Our Mera Peak Express Team is also doing great. They are enjoying great weather and good views in the Hinku Valley. The had an acclimatization day in Thagnak and will be departing early tomorrow morning for Khare. This is a big elevation gain and the rule is slow and steady. Weather continues to be in the teams favor and we are looking forward to hearing from them in Khare.
The Hinku Valley never disappoints!
