Happenings On Rainier

July 3, 2018

Here are the current IMG happenings on Mt. Rainier…

Harry Hamlin’s team is on the Emmons route. They’re doing some crampon/ice axe/rope travel training on the Inter Glacier this morning before moving up the Camp Schurman this afternoon. They’ll go for the summit tomorrow morning.

Johnny Schrock took the first July DC team of the season up to Muir yesterday. The summer is flying by! They’ll do some of the same training as the Emmons team this morning before moving up to the Ingraham Flats.  Like the Emmons team, they’ll go for the summit early (very early) tomorrow morning.

In general the snow continues to melt at Paradise, the mountain is out, Camp Muir is above what clouds there are, and Mt. Adams, Mt. St. Helens, and the Tatoosh Range are in all in view. Today is a good day!
