Our December Trekking Team made it down to Namche today. Leaving Phortse the team headed down hill to the river before climbing back up to a very small village named Mong. A special surprise paid a visit to the team on their trek below Phortse, Musk deer were in the forest! These are small animals that enjoy the Phortse environment.
From Mong, it is a very nice trek to Namche, making twists and turns with the river below. As planned with the itinerary, our December Trekking Team will take a helicopter from Namche to Kathmandu in the morning. This is a great way to cut a few days off any trek if time does not permit staying longer. Judging from the photos Sonam Dorje sent home, this team got along famously the last couple weeks!
