The Putha Hiunchuli Team checked in after a couple challenging days of trekking. The good news is that the weather has been perfect and they are now establishing Base Camp and will take a couple days to rest and refocus their energy on climbing!
From Panjin (4200m) to German Base Camp, the trail is steep and takes some concentration. That, along with the altitude can make the going slow. After pulling into German Base Camp (4500m), the Team kept going uphill the following day where the yaks did a lot of good trail breaking.
For anyone who has visited Mount Everest with our Team and stayed at Lobuche Base Camp, we are told Putha Hiunchuli BC (4900m) resembles this a lot and has plenty of clean water. The next 2-3 days will be spent setting up camp, organizing the climbing gear and having the Puja!
All is well on Putha Hiunchuli and we are now looking forward to getting on the Mountain!
