Team at the trailhead with the south face of Aconcagua – ‘in the rear view mirror’ –
Time to call it a season. Mike, Robert, Leo and their entire crew had a nice walk out yesterday. After a bit of sorting and collecting left bags in Penitentes, it was time to load the van and head east to Mendoza. Long day but what a totally fun day. Pressure’s off and the goal has been attained. Oh yeah, everyone still has 10 fingers and 10 toes, too. Leo lives in Mendoza so he’s happy to be home. Mike and Robert head out tomorrow. Looks like most of the team is going to ‘hang’ a day or two and enjoy Mendoza and celebrate their success.
Thanks for joining us this season. No major issues and all four expeditions saw the summit. We’ll take that. 2017/18 dates with lead guides are already posted on our web site. Aconcagua is a serious expedition, so for those planning on climbing with IMG next season, use the next 10 months to continue working on your fitness, fill in any skills gaps, and start putting your ‘kit’ together. It’ll be Aconcagua time again before we know it.
