Andy just checked in from Sajama Village (14,000’) near the border of Chile. The team had a good day driving across the Altiplano and perfect weather. The wind is one of the biggest obstacles that we face when heading to this area and Andy has reported calm winds. The forecast is positive for the next few days.
The Cordillera Occidental is a gorgeous area to visit and climb. Tomorrow the team is going to acclimatize by visiting the local hot springs and geysers. The accessibility of these massive peaks makes it very easy to go too high a little too fast. It will be nice to have some sightseeing to keep them busy for a couple days.
