The crew is still doing well on Kilimanjaro. Shorter day today with the goal being the Shira Plateau at 12,500 ft. Weather remains very good. The great thing about camping at Shira is the unobstructed view of the mountain. Nice!
Tomorrow is a longer day. Up to a place call the Lava Tower at a bit over 14,500 ft. Then, it’s all downhill, right to the Baranco Camp at 13,000. Long but gradual and a great example of the ‘climb high, sleep low’ adage. AND, the views of Kilimanjaro are even better from tomorrow’s camp.
