Joining us in the office this week & covering for the globetrotting Tye Chapman is the awesome IMG Guide Dallas Glass. What’s on your mind Dallas?
It’s official. The first real snow of the season has hit Paradise Meadows on Rainier. And while some Seattleites may by whining about the recent rains, those of us who live for the mountains know what this means…Winter Is Here!
This is a time to be celebrated! It’s a time to lather a fresh coat of wax on the skis. Blow the dust off the goggles. Put on old ski movies. And of course watch the weather like a hawk. With each passing storm local skiers and riders count every inch of snow, waiting patiently for the first turns of the season.
With the highest winter trailhead just down the road from our office door, we here at IMG are celebrating the onset of winter. The excitement in the air is palpable. Come join us for one of our winter programs, including Avalanche Courses, Backcountry Skiing/Riding, and Winter Expedition Seminars.
New for this winter:
Backcountry Touring Seminar: Moving from the ski area to the backcountry. This course will focus on skills needed to become a competent backcountry skier or rider, including an AIARE Level 1 Avalanche Course.
Mt Rainier Ski Traverse: Experience Mt Rainier in one of the most unique ways imaginable: on skis during the winter. Our team will traverse Mt Rainier from Paradise to the Carbon River around the east side of the mountain.
AIARE Level 1 Avalanche Courses: With classroom time hosted at the Outdoor Research Building in Seattle and field sessions on Mt Rainier. This is an excellent course for those winter recreationist looking for avalanche education.
Here’s to a great winter!
