In the forest nearing Machame Hut (Eric Simonson)
IMG guide Craig John called on the sat phone to report that his next Kilimanjaro group were doing well. After a day of prep in Moshi, today they hit the trail and had a nice climb up to Machame Camp, at treeline, about 10,000 feet. They had a bit of rain this afternoon, and the trail was muddy in places, but Craig reports that they are above the clouds now, and that the mountain is clearing up in the evening and the stars are coming out. Everyone is doing well and they are looking forward to a good night sleep, and the climb tomorrow up to Shira Plateau. So far so good!!
