\n\t\t\t\tOn the Crater Rim at dawn with Mawenzi in the background (Phunuru)\n\t\t\t\t<\/dd><\/dl>
\n\t\t<\/div>\n\nThe Kilimanjaro climbers had a perfect summit day, with everyone making the top of Uhuru, the highest point.\u00a0 They left Barafu Camp a little after midnight and hit Stella Point on the Crater Rim at dawn.\u00a0 As they traversed around to Uhuru they were treated to a glorious sunrise with the sun rising over Mawenzi peak to the east.\u00a0 Their descent was straightforward back to Barafu, where they got some rest, packed up their porter duffels, and had some lunch.\u00a0 Then, they continued down the Mweka Route to the Mweka Camp at about 11,000 feet, near the treeline.\u00a0 Now the team are enjoying the thick air and getting some well deserved sleep.\u00a0 In the morning they will head down to the Mweka Gate and back to Moshi for celebrations and preparations for their safari.\u00a0 Well done team!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
