Fun fact: moulin, the french word for “mill,” are holes in glaciers that are formed by a constant dripping of ice melt.\u00c2\u00a0 These holes can be as deep as the glacier is thick, which for Grey Glacier is about 100 feet.\u00c2\u00a0 The group donned their crampons and had a walk around the glacier and kept a safe distance from these moulins.\u00c2\u00a0 No slipping!\u00c2\u00a0 This is the last night of the trek and a boat ride across the lake will take them to their private transport back to Puerto Natales.<\/p>\n
Charlotte and her team are doing well on the Huemul Circuit.\u00c2\u00a0 She checked in today and said that the weather is gorgeous, the river crossing went super well and that the crew is really strong.\u00c2\u00a0 They had incredible views of the southern Patagonian ice field today, sounds pretty cool to me, no pun intended.\u00c2\u00a0 They’re currently finishing up a tasty backcountry meal at camp and will hit the trail first thing in the morning.<\/p>\n
