Great ice on a beautiful day for training in Phortse (Phunuru Sherpa)<\/p><\/div>\n

IMG Senior Guide Phunuru Sherpa checked in after completing the Khumbu Climbing Center\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s (KCC) training this winter. Phunuru sent a few photos of our Sherpa Team training on ice and building anchors. Phunuru is heading back down to Kathmandu as we speak, and will be soon be on his way to Tanzania to lead IMG\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s February Kilimanjaro<\/a> climb.<\/p>\n

If you are looking for a different sort of Mt Everest experience, this is the time of year to go to the Khumbu. Very few tourists, cold and clear, and fun ice climbing! After training on the ice, take advantage of your acclimatization and head farther up the valley for a visit of EBC or winter climbs of Lobuche and Island Peak!<\/p>\n
