\n\t\t\t\tPhunuru and the Team on the summit! (Phunuru Sherpa)\n\t\t\t\t<\/dd><\/dl>
\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n <\/p>\n
Received two texts early this morning.\u00c2\u00a0 The first was from Phunuru saying that the team and he were on the summit.\u00c2\u00a0 A few hours later we received a second, this one saying that everyone was back down in high camp.\u00c2\u00a0 Just the news we wanted to hear!<\/p>\n
The team will be taking a short rest at high camp but mostly they\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll be eating, drinking, packing and getting \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcprepped\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 mentally for their remaining hike down to Mweka Camp at 10,000\u00e2\u20ac\u2122.\u00c2\u00a0 That\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s where the air is \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcthick\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 and warm and chances of serious altitude-related health issues have decreased dramatically.\u00c2\u00a0 That\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s the place, also, where our Chagga team will be waiting with sleeping tents up and hot food and drink in the mess tent.<\/p>\n
The training and the focus has paid off.\u00c2\u00a0 Everyone performed well and they got the job done.\u00c2\u00a0 No injuries, a beautiful summit morning and a good time had by all.\u00c2\u00a0 Tomorrow\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s walk is a short one and all down hill.\u00c2\u00a0 Now the focus will be turning to the safari.<\/p>\n
