Let\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s get caught up with the team on Vinson.\u00c2\u00a0 Everyone understands that flying to the interior of Antarctica can be problematic, at best.\u00c2\u00a0 2000 miles (more or less), land on hard ice in an IL 76, then fly another hour in a ski-equipped Twin Otter to Vinson base camp.\u00c2\u00a0 What could possibly go wrong?\u00c2\u00a0 In the case of our current team —— NOTHING.\u00c2\u00a0 Took off exactly on schedule from Punta Arenas, Chile and 6 HOURS LATER were putting up their tents at Vinson base camp.\u00c2\u00a0 No way we can do better than that!<\/p>\n

Team carried to C1, near 10,000 ft yesterday.\u00c2\u00a0 Weather is still good, so they made their move up to C1 today.\u00c2\u00a0 Forecast remains favorable.\u00c2\u00a0 Doesn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t get much better, currently, than this.<\/p>\n
