Twin Otter at Vinson Base Camp<\/p><\/div>\n

Best laid plans\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6as they say.\u00c2\u00a0 Weather did not permit a flight off the Ice for the team on the 12th<\/sup>.\u00c2\u00a0 Team is still at Vinson base camp.\u00c2\u00a0 If the weather says \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcno\u00e2\u20ac\u2122, no one flies.\u00c2\u00a0 Earliest flight now is scheduled for 15 or 16 December.\u00c2\u00a0 Not the ideal scenario but it is what it is.\u00c2\u00a0 80 degrees S latitude is one of the most isolated and difficult places to reach on earth.\u00c2\u00a0 ALE, our flight service, has a perfect safety record because they\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re conservative.\u00c2\u00a0 We rely on their expertise to say when it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s safe to fly.\u00c2\u00a0 No limit to the food and fuel available on the Ice so no issue other than waiting gets hard but no nearly as hard as climbing Vinson and the team\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s already done that!!<\/p>\n

They\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll get off as soon as it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s safe to fly.<\/p>\n
