\n\t\t\t\tPickup Time at Yellow Valley (John Dahlem)\n\t\t\t\t<\/dd><\/dl>

Carstensz Pyramid is an adventure.\u00c2\u00a0 The Team has done a great job showing tons of patience during this expedition.\u00c2\u00a0 The weather has been causing havoc this season on Carstensz but the team rolled with it and was rewarded.\u00c2\u00a0 After a couple days of weather, the Team made it into Yellow Valley where they trained and acclimatized.<\/p>\n
The next day was for the summit!\u00c2\u00a0 Jonathan set the alarm for 1 am and stuck his head outside the tent flap to evaluate conditions.\u00c2\u00a0 It was cold and there were stars in the sky.\u00c2\u00a0 Best weather forecast you can ask for; it was \u00e2\u20ac\u0153go time.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d\u00c2\u00a0 The Team checked in when they arrived on top of the ridge.\u00c2\u00a0 Cold with perfect weather.\u00c2\u00a0 A few more hours to the summit.\u00c2\u00a0 The Team reached the summit on a great day and celebrated before refocusing and working their way back to Base Camp.<\/p>\n
Happy and tired, the Team ate dinner and made the perfect plan to call in the Helicopter the next morning.\u00c2\u00a0 This was not to be.\u00c2\u00a0 Jonathan sent one simple text yesterday.\u00c2\u00a0 \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Rain mixed with a little snow.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d\u00c2\u00a0 The helicopter was shut down for the day but they plenty of food and fuel.\u00c2\u00a0 We received some good news just few minutes ago; the 2017 Carstensz Pyramid Team has arrived safely back to Timika.\u00c2\u00a0 Time to\u00c2\u00a0 celebrate! … and dry the gear out.<\/p>\n
