{"id":1697,"date":"2010-10-04T08:03:37","date_gmt":"2010-10-04T16:03:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mountainguides.com\/wordpress\/?p=1697"},"modified":"2010-10-04T08:28:59","modified_gmt":"2010-10-04T16:28:59","slug":"kili-team-hits-karanga-camp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mountainguides.com\/wordpress\/2010\/10\/04\/kilimanjaro\/kili-team-hits-karanga-camp\/","title":{"rendered":"Kili Team Hits Karanga Camp"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>October 2, 2010<\/p>\n<p>The good news, and the good timing, continues.\u00c2\u00a0 John Colver called in this  morning, (Pacific time, evening on Kili), to report that the crew woke to a  beautiful sunrise and a fun couple of hours up the Baranco Wall.\u00c2\u00a0 And, managed  to get to Karanga Camp at 13,300 ft. about 10 minutes before an afternoon rain  shower.\u00c2\u00a0 But the rain didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t last long.\u00c2\u00a0 Clouds lowered and the mountain  appeared for a glorious sunset.\u00c2\u00a0 All members still doing well.\u00c2\u00a0 Tomorrow\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s a  short day, about 3 hours, to high camp at Barafu.\u00c2\u00a0 One of the advantages to  doing this route in 7 days is that the day up to high camp is relatively short  and easy and get the group there early in the day.\u00c2\u00a0 Plenty of time to pack, rest  and prepare for summit morning.<\/p>\n<p>So, all continues to go well with the Colver  crew.<\/p>\n<p>Phil Ershler<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<div id=\"attachment_1716\" style=\"width: 507px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mountainguides.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/Kili-11.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[1697]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1716\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1716\" title=\"Chagga porters working their way up the Baranco Wall.
