(Photo by Kathy Harshbarger)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>John Colver reported in from Kilimanjaro.<\/p>\n<p>Day 2 is complete.\u00c2\u00a0 The group reported in from camp at 12,500 ft. on the Shira Plateau.\u00c2\u00a0 Another good day, with plenty of sunshine.\u00c2\u00a0 The entire group of 11 climbers continues to do well.<\/p>\n<p>Tomorrow will be a big longer distance wise.\u00c2\u00a0 They head gradually uphill to a place called Lava Tower, at 14,900 ft.\u00c2\u00a0 Then, it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s down and down, winding up at Baranco Camp, elevation 13,000 ft.\u00c2\u00a0 Perfect for acclimatization.<\/p>\n<p>All continues to go well.\u00c2\u00a0 We just need a few more days of the same.<\/p>\n<p>Phil<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>September 30, 2010 John Colver reported in from Kilimanjaro.
