Vinson Team Waiting on Weather in Antarctica"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>January 2, 2017<\/p>\n<p>Just off the sat phone with Greg Vernovage from C1 on Vinson Massif.\u00c2\u00a0 They snuck in a carry yesterday, just the fixed ropes and cached just short of high camp.\u00c2\u00a0 Forecast was calling for higher winds yesterday and today that don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t seem to be developing.\u00c2\u00a0 Greg and crew are taking a day off today at C1 and will be ready to move to high camp tomorrow, winds permitting.\u00c2\u00a0 They\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re feeling quite strong and ready to push to the we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re crossing fingers.\u00c2\u00a0 Bottom line: all\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s good with the crew and they now just need two reasonable weather days to take a shot at the summit.\u00c2\u00a0
