Over the weekend, we wrapped up the Mexico trip and the gang in Ecuador will be flying home late tonight.\u00c2\u00a0 Working with the Reyes family in Mexico made all the logistics issues down there simple.\u00c2\u00a0 After their successful climb of Orizaba, the team had a nice dinner (after nice showers) at the Reyes family compound in Tlachichua and then spent the night there.\u00c2\u00a0 They traveled in private transportation back to Mexico City Saturday morning and all got back together that evening for one final dinner.\u00c2\u00a0 It was a good trip and everyone caught flights home Sunday morning.\u00c2\u00a0 Next expedition to the Mexico volcanos is 28 January with Josh McDowell leading.\u00c2\u00a0 Still time and space to join the team.<\/p>\n

The team in Ecuador was bummed with the weather they \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcdrew\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 on Antisana but determined to make the most of their last bit of time in country.\u00c2\u00a0 They visited an old friend, Jorge Anhalzer, who is \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcretired\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 climbing guide and a simply great photographer.\u00c2\u00a0 He\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s authored, with Romulo\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s assistance, a number of coffee table books about the people and country of Ecuador.\u00c2\u00a0 Then, Romulo\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s wife, Patricia, prepared the Ecuadorian delicacy cuy as lunch for the crew at their house.\u00c2\u00a0 For those who don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t know, cuy is guinea pig.\u00c2\u00a0 Monday will be a hike up Pinchincha and then off to the airport for flights home.<\/p>\n

Next up \u00e2\u20ac\u201c Vinson Massif.\u00c2\u00a0 First expedition of the season begins on 23 November with flights to Punta Arenas, Chile.\u00c2\u00a0 Mike Hamill and team will kick off the season for us.\u00c2\u00a0 Stay tuned.<\/p>\n
