It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s always good news when a team is finishing a successful expedition with everyone having reached the summit, nary a scratch and everyone having become new friends.\u00c2\u00a0 Success by anyone\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s definition.\u00c2\u00a0 Jonathan and team returned to Mendoza late last evening, grabbed bags of \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcMcDonald’s\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 and went to bed.\u00c2\u00a0 Physically, mentally and emotionally relieved.\u00c2\u00a0 Sleep must have come very easily last night.\u00c2\u00a0 Congratulations to them all and safe travels home.<\/p>\n
Luke and team were able to spend about 20 minutes talking with Jonathan and crew in Penitentes.\u00c2\u00a0 They finished preparing their gear into mule loads for the trip in.\u00c2\u00a0 60 kg is enough for one of those big guys.\u00c2\u00a0 They should arriving at Pampa de Lenas about now, their first camp on the 3 day approach.<\/p>\n
I also spoke with Tye after his first day on the trail in Patagonia.\u00c2\u00a0 I did this trip personally a couple of years ago with a custom group of old customers\/friends and enjoyed every minute of it.\u00c2\u00a0 They spent last evening at the Refugio Chileno but went up further yesterday to get their first view of \u00e2\u20ac\u0153The Towers\u00e2\u20ac\u009d\u00c2\u00a0 A little drizzle earlier in the day but Tye parted the skies for the \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Towers\u00e2\u20ac\u009d view.\u00c2\u00a0 Totally spectacular.\u00c2\u00a0 Even further up tomorrow, to the Silence Valley.\u00c2\u00a0 A bit more work but that\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s one of the reasons they\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll have the area pretty much to themselves.<\/p>\n
