The Big Bird<\/p><\/div>\n

Vinson is pretty much a wrap.\u00c2\u00a0 The team left high camp yesterday, descended all the way to Vinson base camp, hopped into a waiting Twin Otter and were eating a hot, prepared dinner at the Union Glacier last evening.\u00c2\u00a0 Now, they simply relax in total comfort until the \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcbig bird\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 swoops in and grabs them.\u00c2\u00a0 Ideally, that happens on 9 Jan.\u00c2\u00a0 That flight will bring in our final group of the season.\u00c2\u00a0 Austin Shannon will be waiting for that team\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s arrival.\u00c2\u00a0 Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t know how this trip could have gone any better and don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t know how we could have put together a better group of climbers.\u00c2\u00a0 IMG is totally proud of our climbers and guides.<\/p>\n

The trek out for Mike’s Aconcagua team<\/p><\/div>\n

Mike Hamill just emailed from Mendoza and told me it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s pouring rain there.\u00c2\u00a0 Mike and team will begin flying home on the 9th<\/sup>.\u00c2\u00a0 They gave it their all but sometimes the mountain says \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcno\u00e2\u20ac\u2122.\u00c2\u00a0 It shouted<\/em> \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcNO\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 this time.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile on Aconcagua, Josh McDowell and crew continue to wait at C1.\u00c2\u00a0 Team\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s antsy to go higher but Josh is holding them in check.\u00c2\u00a0 Hoping they can sneak in a carry to C2 today.\u00c2\u00a0 We\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll see.\u00c2\u00a0 Weather has the final word.\u00c2\u00a0 They\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re healthy, fed and watered and raring to go.<\/p>\n
