In The Southern Hemisphere"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>December 28, 2015<\/p>\n<p>Now that the Christmas holiday is over, let\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s get everyone updated on IMG trips currently \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcsouth of the border\u00e2\u20ac\u2122.\u00c2\u00a0 In this case, way south.\u00c2\u00a0 Mike Hamill checked in this morning to let us know his Aconcagua crew had moved up to C1, at just over 16,000\u00e2\u20ac\u2122.\u00c2\u00a0 Weather\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s reasonable and the team is moving well.\u00c2\u00a0 Josh McDowell also checked in with news of his team, currently in Mendoza.\u00c2\u00a0 They are wrapping up their preparations, securing permits this afternoon, and heading for Penitentes in the morning.\u00c2\u00a0 That means they\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll begin their approach on the morning of 30 Dec.\u00c2\u00a0 All\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s good there, just chomping at the bit and anxious to start walking.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_14660\" style=\"width: 160px\" his Vinson team.\u00c2\u00a0 They\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re in Punta Arenas, gathering last members and bags and getting ready to fly as soon as weather permits to the Union Glacier, around 80 degrees S. latitude.\u00c2\u00a0 Weather in certain locations in the States made getting to Punta tough for some of our members but it all got done and this team, too, is ready to get to it.<\/p>\n<p>So, 2 Aconcagua teams will be on the mountain New Year\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Eve and 1 will be on Vinson in Antarctica.\u00c2\u00a0 You have to admit, pretty cool way to start the new year.<\/p>\n<p>Phil
