IMG Senior Guide, Austin Shannon, called in a couple of times over the weekend from Mexico City.\u00c2\u00a0 Austin and Dallas Glass have a group of 9 climbers with them and have started our first Mexico trip for the season.\u00c2\u00a0 The guides flew down on Friday, a day early, to do some shopping and packing.\u00c2\u00a0 The team arrived on Saturday.\u00c2\u00a0 Everyone on schedule and with all their luggage.\u00c2\u00a0 Their first group dinner together was Saturday night, near the hotel.\u00c2\u00a0 Our driver\/van met them Sunday morning and they were off.\u00c2\u00a0 Since 1976, we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve worked with the Reyes family in Mexico.\u00c2\u00a0 The brothers, Gerardo and Luis, their father, Francisco, and their Uncle, Amador, have been the premier service helping foreign climbers get around Mexico and providing 4-wheel transportation\/support\/lodging\/etc.\u00c2\u00a0 It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s like why would we work with anyone else?\u00c2\u00a0 Gerardo is a general surgeon, to boot.\u00c2\u00a0 Talk about having a great insurance policy!\u00c2\u00a0 There are less expensive ways to run a Mexico trip but there isn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t a better way to run a Mexico trip.\u00c2\u00a0 With a full group of 9 climbers, we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re also joined by one of our favorite Mexican guides.\u00c2\u00a0 Two guides from IMG and one from Mexico makes a great combination.<\/p>\n
Anyhow, the team had a good acclimatization hike yesterday and spent the night at their hotel in Amecameca.\u00c2\u00a0 Today, they\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re off to the Altzomoni Hut and a carry to about 15K.\u00c2\u00a0 Group seems strong and excited.\u00c2\u00a0 What more could we ask?<\/p>\n
