Dallas Glass called from the summit of Orizaba to let me know that all was well at the top of Mexico.\u00c2\u00a0 Not a lot of folks recognize that Orizaba is actually the third highest peak in North America, topped only by Denali and Logan.\u00c2\u00a0 Regardless, Dallas said they got a little bit of a late start as the mountain was a little \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcfirm\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 right now.\u00c2\u00a0 They had some running belays and even \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcpitched out\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 a section or two just to be on the safe side.<\/p>\n<p>They will take their time getting back down to the hut, where they\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll be met by their 4 wheel drivers and vehicles.\u00c2\u00a0 It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s just short of two hours back to the town of Tlachichuca and showers and clean clothes and cold drinks and a nice, home-cooked, sit-down dinner with the Reyes family.\u00c2\u00a0 They\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll all sleep well tonight.<\/p>\n<p>Phil Ershler<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>November 17th, 2017 &nbsp;
