Looking to sharpen your climbing skills this summer? We have a variety of new and exciting programs in 2022!
Mt Baker/Mt Rainier Seminar – During this 7-day back-to-back Baker/Rainier climb, climbers spend the first 3 days ascending Mt Baker’s Easton Route. Climbers then take a travel/training half-day of instructional training followed by a summit attempt via Rainier’s historic Disappointment Cleaver route. 2022 Dates: May 25-31, Jul 8-14, Aug 25-31
Winter Seminar/Summit Climb – This 6.5-day program is designed to give our climbers a summit attempt of Mount Rainier along with a full training curriculum created to prepare climbers for bigger expeditions such as Denali. 2022 Dates: April 27- May 3
Little Tahoma/Rainier Seminar – Our 7-day Little Tahoma/Rainier Seminar puts climbers on a 3 day training seminar and summit attempt on Little Tahoma, Mt Rainier’s slightly lower twin, the 3rd highest peak in Washington State. Climbers then traverse to the Muir Snowfield and embark on a summit attempt of Mt Rainier via the Disappointment Cleaver route. 2022 Dates: June 28-July 4
4 Day Expedition Prep Seminar – This 4-day training program on Rainier emphasizes technical training and expedition logistics designed to deliver the specific skills required to be successful on bigger expeditions such as Denali. 2022 Dates: Feb 19-22, Mar 5-8, Mar 19-22, Apr 2-5, Apr 16-19
We have added dates and expanded our existing winter seminars!
Ouray Expedition Prep Seminar – For climbers looking to prepare for an expedition on bigger mountains like Denali, this 4-day program will spend time talking through expedition skills, and working on crevasse rescue and self-rescue techniques. The program will be hotel based, but if conditions allow, the group will spend one night winter-snow camping, with a short approach pulling sleds — a good introduction to the extreme self-care required for expedition climbing. If time allows, climbers will also sample the ice-climbing that Ouray is known for.
2022 Dates: Feb 15-18, Feb 24-27
Mt. Washington Expedition Prep Seminar – This course is the perfect addendum to your previous climbing experience in teaching you expedition specific skills, with a summit-attempt of Mt. Washington included. The first and second days will be spent outdoors reviewing and learning technical skills: ice axe arrest, cramponing, belaying skills, rope travel, snow anchors, crevasse rescue, glaciated travel, and sled rigging. We will return to town for the first two evenings. Day 3 we will head up to Mount Washington where we will set up camp in anticipation of our summit attempt on the fourth day.
2022 Dates: Jan 12-15, Feb 8-11, Feb 22-25, Mar 7-10, Apr 4-7
