The lake at Base Camp on Pequeno Alpamayo (Greg Vernovage)
Adam checked in from Base Camp on Pequeno Alpamayo. The team enjoyed more great weather for their trek. Leaving Tambo Condoriri, they walked up the road for about 30 minutes. Taking a right turn, the team treks across an old damn and then traverses towards the lake. The Llamas with the gear on board usually accompany the team for a short period of time on the way to Base Camp.
This afternoon was spent getting set up at Base Camp which will be home for the next few days. After lunch, it will be time to rig harnesses and familiarize themselves again with gear they will need for the climb.
