It’s a scorcher out there, but the Rainier all-women’s Disappointment Cleaver team powered through the heat straight out of Paradise and up the Muir Snowfield. They are currently hydrating and relaxing at 10, 080′ Camp Muir. Lead guide, Emily Johnston, and her all-female crew will soon be serving burritos before a well-deserved night’s rest.
The ladies will wake up early for a pancake breakfast and then some crampon, ice axe self-arrest, and rope team travel training. Then it is onward and upward to Ingraham Flats.
