Well, Luke checked in today reporting that he and the team had a great day today. They spent the morning at the viewpoint just soaking things in as best they could. After lunch they headed out on a zodiac boat to Islatak. Islatak is a nunatak, which is an island/rock ridge/peak that protrudes above a glacier. In this case it is at the end of the glacier, splitting Grey Glacier as it hits the water. After about an hour walk, they put on harnesses, helmets and crampons and explored a bit. Deep blue rivers, tunnels and of course, crevasses were the highlights! I should get some photos from Luke tomorrow.
Tomorrow, morning they might jump in the kayaks. If not, they’ll hang out and just relax before getting on the ‘big boat’ for their ride back to their awaiting van back to Puerto Natales! We’re almost a wrap on the first Patagonia trek of the season.
